General Hospital

Amityville 1992: It's About Time

Megan Ward (Kate) played good-teen-gone-bad Lisa Sterling, who is possessed by a haunted clock, in Amityville 1992: It's About Time.

So, this was actually the fifth in a series of seven films based on The Amityville Horror.

"Yes, but the title doesn't mean we've been waiting for this movie for so long [laughs]. It's actually about a demonic clock from the original haunted house... This is so embarrassing [laughs]."

Don't worry, We talked to Greg Vaughan about Children Of The Corn V.

"Well, the Amityville franchise might have a little more kick than the Children Of The Corn series - but they're both very different [laughs]."

Here, your stepfather was played by your ex-lover on General Hospital, Stephen Macht (Trevor). "When I first heard Stephen was playing Kate's ex, my first thought was, 'Wow, you've got a great actor for the part.' I was impressed they got him. He's a powerhouse actor. Okay, so 'my dad' is now 'my former lover [laughs].' I wasn't concerned about it being awkward on the set, but I admit it is a strange thing to live."

Did it help you both at General Hospital since you'd worked together before?

"Absolutely. We already had a familiar working relationship and - in a purely artistic way - that paternal feeling I had for him and him for me serves their General Hospital relationship. Kate was in her early 20s when she met Trevor and that was my age when I made that movie, even though I was playing 16. As an older and wiser actor, he was very much a mentor to me then."

Tell us about your character.

"She got possessed by the clock, turned evil and melted her cute, jock boyfriend. Then, her brother ends up electrocuting her and either she died or everything ended up fine. I don't remember!"

When was the last time you saw this movie?

"Aside from the screening [laughs]? I saw about five minutes of it on TV about 10 years ago. But, there's such a cult following for these B horror movies, I still get fan mail. And, I made the Fangoria Top 100 back in my day, thank you very much."
